Cresswell’s Café
Cresswell is a name well known in our twin towns. A dedicated husband and wife team who run the Ocean Lab Café and Cresswell’s café/restaurant & bar.
Jude Cresswell grew up in Pembrokeshire before spreading her wings and meeting her husband Allan, together they found their calling and became publicans in Swindon. The arrival of their son Rhys triggered a move home to Pembrokeshire where they purchased Fern Villa in Goodwick which they renovated and Jude ran their own Guesthouse, whilst Allan worked for a local catering supplies company.
It was not long before the couple set up another business in Fishguard, a café located in the centre of town. 18 years later Allan runs Cresswell’s Café, a very popular place to go, where the local Sisters from the convent are regular faces for the friendly and often humorous conversation. Recently refurbished and licensed to sell alcohol, Cresswell’s Café is the place to be.
The Coffee Shop at Ocean Lab needs no introduction to our residents. It’s a great place to be with children, dogs, muddy boots, all are welcome in this incredible space (outdoor space for the dogs) Jude and Allan took on the Café here 13 years ago and have built up a successful business where the staff and customers are not only acquaintances but friends. The camaraderie between Jude and her loyal staff and customers shines through.

The Coffee Shop at Ocean Lab

The Ocean lab building itself is set to get a wonderful refurbishment; watch this space! Jude welcomes the opportunity to continue offering quality and tasty food and great service to their loyal and longstanding customers and very much looks forward to welcoming new faces and families from around the UK and beyond.
As a long-standing member of the Round Table, now 41 Club, Allan has a great presence in our community. He also has an alias ‘The dame of Fishguard’, yes that’s right; Allan always stars in the theatrical role every year to support our towns incredible theatre company for we are blessed with a wonderful facility – Theatre Gwaun.
Jude is the assistant treasurer of the renowned New Year’s Eve events committee and Allan the committee secretary. Jude was also on the parent committee of the Sea Cadets for many years while Allan is also a governor of our local primary school, Ysgol Glannau Gwaun. It is safe to say that as a family they have dedicated their lives to our community for which we are most grateful.
