Ivybridge Guest House

We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans, Personal Dietary Requirements

Ivybridge Guest House was built in the 1960’s as a family home to the local coal merchants. The plot itself goes back much further than that with records of corn and grist millers from 1795, 2 years before the last invasion. Today we are a cosy 14 en-suite bed and breakfast welcoming guests from all over the world with our unique warm and friendly style of homestay hospitality.

We are located in Goodwick, ¼ mile from the ferry & train port which connects the main land to Rosslare, Southern Ireland. The coastal pathways are a mere 15 minutes’ walk from our front door. We connect travellers as far as Poppit Sands, Cardigan to the Northeast and Solva Harbour to the Southwest.

Our en-suite rooms of various size and capacity are clean, bright and minimalistic with modern comforts such as carpets, TV radio, tea tray, duvets and bathroom amenities. Free fibreoptic Wifi runs throughout the property and family rooms feature bunk beds in separate rooms. Our services include limo pick up, cold buffet and hot plated breakfast and of course our Spices Chinese Restaurant featuring Chef Jan Koi’s oriental home cooking with fresh herbs and spices a plenty!

Relax and rejuvenate at Ivybridge Spa opposite our B&B. Ask us for group packages, special event parties or trust us with your next tailored full board retreat or event on the west coast of Wales!

We offer you a perfect setting for a relaxing break.

Mark is an extremely welcoming guy especially when the ferry runs late – nothing is too much trouble for him ( great after a rough ferry crossing!! ). Ivybridge is a wonderful stop-over before the lunchtime ferry to Rosslare and the early evening ferry from Rosslare ( within 4 mins drive from the terminal ). It is also very handy for exploring the area both north and south. One of the bedrooms has an adjoining bedroom with double bunks – great for a family. Look no further if you need a B&B in Fishguard!!

Beds were harder than at home ( just a personal opinion! )

Very comfortable and cosy.

The owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are very good and Jan the chef produced an excellent authentic Chinese meal one evening. We visited during a very cold few days but the B&B was very warm and comfortable. Also, plenty of space for parking and the Ivybridge is in an ideal position near the ferry port. Oh, and I loved the choice of background music in the dining room!

Friendly, great for dogs and fab food

“We stayed at Ivybridge for our outbound and return trips on the ferry. It was our first time travelling by car with our (big!) dog, so I was nervous about finding an accommodating place to stay. Mark and Jan were welcoming, friendly, and particularly considerate of the dog.

Only a few minutes’ drive from the ferry port, we found the guesthouse easily as it was clearly signposted from the road. Mark greeted us late in the evening, showed us to our warm and immaculately clean apartment, and arranged a time for breakfast the next morning. He even recommended the best places to walk the dog. We slept well, the area was silent, and the bed was firm and comfortable. As we stayed in the deluxe apartment, the dog could sleep in the cool kitchen while we were warm in the bedroom.

The following morning, they’d set us up a table in the lobby so the dog could sit with us during breakfast. We had a lovely cooked breakfast that really set us up for the onward journey. There was plenty of fresh food in the continental breakfast area too.

On our return trip, we were lucky to have dinner at the Ivybridge, again at our own table in the lobby with the dog. The food was fresh, tasty, and real treat after an exhausting day of travel.

I’d really recommend a stay at the Ivybridge. We’re recommending it to all our friends and family who might come to visit us by ferry, and will certainly stay there again next time we travel to England.”

Great place to stay.

Welcoming and very helpful. Bed very comfortable and lovely and clean, as was the bathroom. Lots of choice for breakfast and freshly cooked to order which was excellent. Hope to visit there again.
