Plenty of hills but many miles of beautiful, level quiet roads that will take you to some of our secret places. Cycling North Pembrokeshire is fun and offers everything from a gentle ride along picturesque Gwaun Valley to challenging circular routes on the Tour of Pembrokeshire roads.
There are also plenty of opportunities for the adventurous sea angler both around Fishguard’s large harbour and in the secluded bays and inlets along our spectacular coast. Or, closer at hand and more accessible, why not try your hand at coarse fishing on peaceful, picturesque and safe lakes?
North Pembrokeshire is a mecca for watersports lovers and newcomers alike. kayaking, surfing, coasteering, sailing, boat trips and much more. Triathlon, Red Bull Diving and locally grown blue ribband event the Fishguard Bay Ocean Race (FBOR’22) along Pembrokeshire’s prizewinning.
Last Invasion Of Britain 2022
2022 will be the 225th anniversary of the Last Invasion of Mainland Britain and the Fishguard Invasion Centre Trust and volunteers have been planning a number of events for our community and visitors to enjoy. Fishguard Folk Festival 2022
Fishguard Folk Festival 2022, the friendly folk festival by the sea, will take place from Friday May 27th to Sunday May 29th. Most of it will be free, apart from three ticketed concerts. Free events will include concerts, sessions, workshops, singarounds, a ceilidh/twmpath, dance displays, the Pirates and Smugglers Walk, and much more. Headline acts are Welsh folk supergroup ALAW, The Jackie Oates Trio, and The Shackleton Trio. There are musicians from England, Ireland and of course Wales, including local favourites and new discoveries. Full details of the Festival including the line-up are at www.fishfolkfest.co.uk.
Fishguard Lifeboat 200th Anniversary
We are the RNLI: the charity that saves lives at sea and our Lifeboat Station in Fishguard and Goodwick will be celebrating their 200th birthday in 2022. We hope to run a range of events and fundraisers to celebrate over the year, which you will find all about on our Facebook page – Fishguard and Goodwick RNLI Lifeboat Station. Fishguard and Goodwick Round Table
Fishguard and District Round Table will be as busy as ever through 2022, raising vital funds for causes throughout our community. Raft Race Family Fun Day, Soapbox Derby and Fishguard Carnival, are some of the highlights for us which draw crowds from far and wide every year.

Fishguard Bay Ocean Race 2022
The Fishguard Bay Ocean Race 2022 is a major downwind race on – 16 & 17th July for Ocean Racing Skis, along Pembrokeshire’s wild, award winning north coast – starting at Goodwick beach and crossing 17km of open sea to finish on the wide sandy beach at Newport.
FBOR’22 will be the 7th year of this annual tussle, since last year also the Welsh Ocean Ski National Championship. Paddlers from all over the UK and beyond compete with their extreme fitness, navigation, boat-handling and seamanship skills, to win this “black-belt,” no-holds-barred ocean race.
Tour Of Pembrokeshire
The 2022 Tour of Pembrokeshire will be held on Saturday the 14th of May 2022 leaving from St Davids to take in the west coast of the county before winding its way into the Preseli Hills. The route then takes the riders from the Gwaun Valley into Fishguard and along the Parrog. The riders will take on a timed hill climb up the formidable hill into Stop and Call, it’s sure to be a great spectacle with a stream of riders toiling up steep gradients throughout the early afternoon.
Fishguard New Year’s Eve Party 2022
The Fishguard New Years Eve street party was started in 2000 & has grown from strength to strength. We have now added other New Years Eve Events to our Street Party including our fabulous Winter Wonderland situated inside the Town Hall where kids of all ages can join in with our celebration.
With the public health restrictions 2021 party had to be cancelled at the last moment but we’re confident that Fishguard NYE 2022 will be outstanding and look forward to welcoming you. We’re listed in the “Top 10 places to be” so we must be doing something right and don’t forget or fabulous Fireworks display, kindly donated by Stena Line Ferries.
